Course Overview 
If you are a professional working in a current practice of either social care, youth offending, domestic abuse support worker or have already completed a counselling/counselling skills training at minimum Level 4 and who wish to study and specialise in a trauma focused theoretical, academic and practical level. 
The course would be appropriate for people specialising in counselling, whether in the voluntary, statutory or private sectors. Candidates will be practicing in their relevant work context, and will be expected to be committed to client work within NCP ethical framework or equivalent. 
The Diploma challenges candidates to achieve high standards in conceptual and applied knowledge and understanding the TRI phased Trauma focused, systematic, evidenced based methods and frameworks which is considered the gold standard or treatment for Complex PTSD (cPTSD) and PTSD. Candidates are required to engage in therapeutic relationships with different clients. 
At Level 5, learners should be current practitioners who have sufficient experience to evaluate how useful trauma focused theoretical and practical concepts are proving to be in their own client work. The Level 5 Diploma in Working with complex trauma and PTSD provides opportunities for critical self-reflection and enables learners to work towards successful outcomes. 
Learners will be expected to demonstrate a critical understanding of theoretical concepts, clinical applications of a multi model approach within their written work.
