Welcome to your first module of EMDR - this weekend is full of everything you need to propel your practice and career to the next level.

A streamlined training to support your transition and consolidate your knowledge of previous practice and personal experience.

You will be taught how to apply EMDR in a safe, strategic and informed way.

The delivery of the course ensures you will have the confidence to integrate the 8 phases of this world-renowned psychological processor into your current discipline.

TRAINING CONTENT FOR MODULE ONE   Theoretical frameworks of EMDR, Introduction to definition and diagnosis PTSD - C-PTSD, Assessment and treatment planning, Symptom Cluster categorisations, Neuroscience of Trauma and PTSD and Dissociation, Safety, Stabilisation and Resourcing, Memory and the application of EMDR  Initially we examine the model of EMDR and the sequence of the 8 phases, how these work, and how to distinguish who is appropriate and who is not appropriate for the safe use of this modality.   Safety to practice the application of EMDR is imperative for the wellbeing of the people you work with and for the success of your practice. You are taken through a specialist clinical assessment phase and educated about how to decipher assessment and use the results to inform EMDR practice and create fast solutions and relief.   Each phase is experiential, which means we all get to participate in hands on practicing with each other, within a guided, fun, safe learning environment.   You will learn how to distinguish the different symptom clusters of PTSD , Hyper- and Hypo- arousal and learn how to apply different resourcing and stabilisation techniques which are not included within other EMDR trainings. Rachel Fairhurst has a wealth of education and training behind her and is dedicated to ensuring extra content is available to elevate your learning experiences and to top up your strategy tool kit.   Treatment planning is an absolute must and leads the way for successful and safe outcomes.   Stabilisation and resourcing is embedded throughout the whole weekend. You will learn multiple techniques, which ones are appropriate to use and in which sequence, depending on the presented symptoms . Working with trauma is a complex process, however working with it safely is easy when you know how.   Neuroscience is key to understanding how the people you work with experience life, trauma and treatment. We take you through a practical theoretical framework with experiential exercises to consolidate your knowledge and ground theory to practice.   Memory is an integral aspect to processing trauma. Traumatic memories are misfiled during the traumatic experience. You will learn about memory processing and how EMDR supports people in overcoming and processing these experiences. We will explore the role of the Hippocampus and how conscious memory can become unavailable during dissociation.   You will have the experience of observing a live demonstration of the EMDR protocol.   And finally you will get multiple EMDR practices in throughout the weekend. You will be working in small groups and experience the delivery of EMDR and receive EMDR.  Online trainings are slightly different. You will experience lots of techniques, however the Protocol practice will need to be recorded with a volunteer for observation and feedback.
