Welcome to your second module of EMDR - a highly comprehensive and intensive learning experience. You will gain insight to the neurobiology of emotion and learn how to apply the protocol effectively and safely with more complex issues.
A streamlined training to support your transition and consolidate your knowledge of previous practice and personal experience.
You will be taught how to utilise EMDR in a safe, strategic and informed way with more complex issues.
The delivery of the course ensures you will have the confidence to integrate the 8 phases of this world renowned psychological processor into your current discipline.
TRAINING CONTENT FOR MODULE TWO
A critical exploration of working with EMDR and emotions, further assessment, stabilisation & resourcing while including a strong integration of understanding emotion regulation, memory processing and the four clusters of PTSD. These themes are embedded within the EMDR protocols and are essential for setting up practitioners for coping with more complex client cases.
Practice consolidation of EMDR, sharing our success stories and unpicking how the protocol has been so successful (using practice examples and linking them to different theoretical frameworks learned in Module one).
Understand the theory and neuroscience of prefrontal cortex (top down) processing and brain stem / limbic system (bottom up) processing systems, with a critical view of distinguishing the sequence of a more combined and complex approach to the use of EMDR.
It is always imperative to know exactly what you are working with, therefore you will learn how to integrate a specialist assessment system of c-PTSD through experiential learning to achieve enhanced safety to practice.
Each day is delivered as an experiential workshop, practitioners will gain theory practice observations and group work.
Working with flashbacks is a key feature when working with Trauma. Flashbacks can occur as physical, auditory, intrusive images and emotional. You will be taught a protocol for flashbacks reduction and learn how to use EMDR within this context of treatment.
Emotion regulation is explored through neuroscience and with hands on practice using a combined approach of a top down framework recommended by the U.S Military, and the bottom up approach of EMDR.
Applying EMDR within a systemised framework, meaning to create a more complex treatment plan, including the sequence and application of all the learning so far, to treat and process a single traumatic event.
Explore how maladaptive cognition's can underpin behaviour patterns and become negative belief systems
Traumatic grief is highly common yet often a taboo subject. I work with many people who have lost children, loved ones and friends to illness, miscarriage, gang wars, suicide, car accidents and so on. We explore the concept of traumatic grief and how it impacts a person's life. We will then go through a systemised process of applying the EMDR Protocol to process traumatic grief.
Finally, you will get multiple EMDR practices in over the two days. You will be working in small groups and experience the delivery of EMDR and receive EMDR.
Online trainings are slightly different - you will experience lots of techniques, however the Protocol practice will need to be recorded with a volunteer for observation and feedback.
