Narcissistic Abuse Recovery Course (NARC)

We offer a specialised recovery programme for people who have experienced Narcissistic abuse, this may be through a parent, spouse, boss, friend or sibling. We have worked consistently with complex trauma for many years and have noticed the majority of, but not all abuse involves narcissists. However within a large percentage of abuse cases, someone who has traits of a malignant narcissist are involved. Narcissists are those who have little to no empathy for the people around them and who conduct themselves from that perspective. Meaning: they do not care how you or anyone else feels, and this is demonstrated in their behaviour within interpersonal relationships.

What is Narcissistic Abuse?

Narcissistic abuse involves subtle manipulation, pervasive control tactics, gaslighting, emotional and psychological abuse, however the abuse is not limited, it may include, neglect, physical and sexual abuse as well as financial abuse.

There are distinct differences in the neurobiology of a Narcissist than a person who does not have these types of psychological structure https://cptsdfoundation.org/2020/06/22/the-neuroscience-of-narcissism-and-narcissistic-abuse/

The (NARC) Course outline

Our programme is a 21 session highly focused, targeted and measured therapeutic course which is framed against the Tri phasic model, this model is considered the gold standard treatment for c-trauma.  We have been using the ITS specialised Narcissistic recovery programme with excellent, evidence based results  Our unique, innovative and one of a kind programme will focus on "de-programming" your negative cognitions, self perceptions and distorted beliefs, due to the abuse you have suffered.  The programme can be extended if sexual and physical violence has occurred in your history, this can all be discussed with your programme therapist.

What you can expect from the programme.

You will receive a specialised assessment which will last two hours, we will gather all the information regarding your experience and analyse all symptoms you have in relation to your trauma.

Once we have evaluated the full impact we will form a specialised psychological education session which will be tailored to your needs, we believe in education will empower you to understand the trauma and separate you from your symptoms. Clarity and understanding are key components to experiencing freedom from your trauma and abuse.

We will then gently lead you through a personally tailored set of stabilisation sessions, matching specific techniques to address the re-experiencing symptoms of your Narcissistic trauma (B-Clusters). Please be aware we will ask you to do homework, this is a very important part of your recovery, daily tasks will strengthen your neurological pathways into healthier ways of thinking and self mastery.

The next section covers emotional awareness, this is a highly import aspect to your freedom, learning about our emotions and our emotional responses within relationships is imperative to recognise and resolve any patterns which no longer serve us, or are reflections of previous relationships.

And the final section is where we work together to strategically separate you from any accommodations, cognitions, beliefs the trauma has created in you. We also address all areas where a pervasive intrusion has happened within your understanding or control, power, safety, trust and interpersonal relationships. Again, you will be expected to repeat homework which is assigned to you, this will expidite you and your recovery so you can live free from abuse and live your life.
